Unlocking requirements

SADISTIC difficulty is unlocked upon satisfying all of the following requirements:

Once unlocked, there is a choice of rebirthing into normal, evil, or SADISTIC difficulty. A rebirth that changes the difficulty is similar to starting a challenge - number and all last rebirth number factors are reset to 1 and banked levels are lost.

Differences

Fight boss and number

  • Fight boss attack/defense is divided by 1e30 compared to Normal (this attack modifier is the same as Evil as of patch 1.110)
  • Boss Power Bonus is based on 1.2^[boss beaten] instead of being based on 1.5^[boss beaten] as it is in Evil. However, this multiplier can be increased to up to x1.25 per boss killed through the unlocking of the relevant Perks, Quirks and Wishes.

Adventure

  • ITOPOD base pp progress is (2000 + floor) instead of Evil's (700 + floor).
  • Zones from Back to School onwards are unlockable by beating their corresponding boss in Sadistic.
  • Sadistic perks and quirks become available for purchase. Some Sadistic perks and quirks remain active in lower difficulties, while others are only active in Sadistic.

Features level slower

Augmentations, Time Machine, and Blood Magic have a uniform slowdown compared to normal:

Sadistic NGUs unlocked

In Sadistic difficulty, there is a new choice to level sadistic NGUs . Energy / Magic can only be allocated to normal, evil, or sadistic NGUs, not more than one simultaneously.

Both the effects and gaining levels in sadistic NGUs aren't available in lower difficulties.

The Quirk An even Beast-er NGU Quirk grants 1 Evil NGU level for every level gained in the corresponding Sadistic NGU.

In addition to being slower, sadistic NGUs have smaller bonuses and harsher diminishing returns. But they are another multiplicative bonus.
